Since its launch 4 years ago, Pinterest has taken the world by storm! According to Forbes, Pinterest has approximately 53 million active users in the U.S. And, according to Evan Sharp, one of the founders of Pinterest, they’ve got 30 billion pins, 750 million boards now and 75% of their traffic comes from mobile devices. In the most recent American Consumer Satisfaction Index, Pinterest outranked every other social media site, including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
For those of you still unfamiliar with Pinterest, it has been best described as an online pinboard. It is totally driven by visuals. In fact you can’t share anything on Pinterest without an image. When you share something on Pinterest, each bookmark is called a pin. When you share someone else’s pin on Pinterest, it’s called a repin. Pins are grouped together by topic on boards or pinboards. You can upload images or share images you find online.
