HOLIDAY WEDDINGS

December is not only a very special holiday time, but many couples choose this festive time of year to get married.

The hottest trends in holiday weddings are just spectacular!

Wedding Colours: Stay away from green and red. Instead go glam with silver and white or silver and light blue. Accent with crystals, and keep the altar décor in elegant white – white draperies, white ribbons, and white aisle runners.

Wedding Invitations: Instead of a folded invitation use a nice, heavy card stock in traditional white with an elegant border. Make sure that your envelopes are lined in silver.

Wedding Flowers: Go elegant with all white flowers including roses, hydrangeas, tulips, dahlias, zinnias, calla lilies, amaryllises, magnolias, chrysanthemums, and asters.

Wedding Centrepieces: If you want to use florals pots of cream coloured poinsettias are beautiful. Instead of floral centrepieces fill glass, crystal, or silver vases with tall white branches adorned with crystals to catch the light. Surround the vases with candles for a romantic ambience. Or, create centrepieces with bowls of ornaments.

Wedding Cocktails: Add some hot drinks to the repertoire – hot cider, mulled wine, and hot buttered rum will take the chill away.

Wedding Dinner: Serve a traditional roast turkey with all the trimmings. Don’t forget the Christmas pudding and mini mince pies.

Wedding Cake: Have a traditional Yule log, or an all white cake. For something more extravagant have a multi-tiered cake with each tier looking like a gift wrapped package.

Wedding Favours: Hang favours from a beautifully decorated Christmas tree, or place them underneath. Give ornaments, crackers, or homemade seasonal delicacies.
