Regardless of what you choose for the children in your wedding party to wear, remember to dress them comfortably. Kids don’t understand the concept that “you have to suffer to be beautiful”. Happy kids will be a great asset to your wedding. If they’re not comfortable and happy, watch out!
One important item to consider when dressing the children in your wedding party is your time frame. Although our weight may fluctuate, kids can grow in leaps and bounds in no time flat. You would be well advised to wait as long as possible before purchasing an outfit off the rack, or perhaps buying it one size bigger and then having it altered closer to the time of the wedding. If you are having the outfit custom made, have the tailor/seamstress allot for a possible growth spurt and then do the final fitting near the wedding.
Older children and teenagers in the wedding party can wear what ever the adult members of the wedding party are wearing. However, the little ones are unique unto themselves. The formality of the wedding will dictate the length and the fabric of the little girls’ dresses and whether or not the little boys wear a tuxedo.
